  • Cancellations within 7 days of booking are eligible for a full deposit refund. After the grace period, 50% of the deposit is forfeited. No refunds are issued on or after the final payment date.

  • Participants must be able to walk independently over uneven terrain for extended periods. Tours are not wheelchair accessible.

Day 1: Tuesday, September 29, 2026

Depart for Taipei

Leave the states and head for Taiwan.


Day 2: Wednesday, September 30, 2026

Arrive in Taipei

Welcome to Taiwan! Upon arrival in Taipei this evening, we’ll transfer to our hotel and check in. Depending on arrival timing and energy levels, you may choose to take a short walk through the surrounding neighborhood or grab a quick bite nearby.


Day 3: Thursday, October 1, 2026

Taipei Culture & City Highlights

We begin the day with a hike up Elephant Mountain for panoramic views of Taipei’s skyline and the iconic Taipei 101, before heading to the Da’an District to explore Yongkang Street, known for its cafés and local street food. The day continues with a visit to the impressive Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, followed by time at the National Palace Museum, home to one of the world’s largest collections of Chinese imperial artifacts. In the evening, we experience the vibrant atmosphere of Shilin Night Market.

Day 4: Friday, October 2, 2026

Arrival in Hanoi

We arrive in Hanoi and transfer to our hotel before heading out to explore the city, with visits to Hoa Lo Prison and the Temple of Literature. The day continues with time around Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, followed by a stop at Train Street for a unique look at daily life in the Old Quarter.

Day 5: Saturday, October 3, 2026

Ninh Binh: Scenic Countryside

We depart Hanoi and travel to Ninh Binh, beginning with a hike up Mua Cave for panoramic views over the Tam Coc region. After lunch and hotel check-in, the afternoon is spent exploring the countryside by bicycle, passing rice fields and limestone mountains with a visit to a local family for a glimpse into daily life. Later, we take a boat ride through Thung Nham Bird Reserve, known for its peaceful setting and diverse birdlife.

Day 6: Sunday, October 4, 2026

Ninh Binh & Return to Hanoi

We continue exploring Ninh Binh with a visit to Bich Dong Pagoda, an ancient hillside temple set against dramatic scenery, followed by time in Tam Coc, known for its limestone formations rising from the rice fields. In the afternoon, we visit Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam, before returning to Hanoi for the evening.

Day 7: Monday, October 5, 2026

Ha Long Bay

Depart Hanoi and travel to Ha Long Bay, where we board our overnight cruise and begin sailing through the stunning landscapes of Lan Ha Bay. After lunch on board, the afternoon includes a visit to Viet Hai Village or time to relax on the ship, followed by opportunities to swim, unwind on the sundeck, or enjoy onboard activities. As the sun sets, the ship anchors for the evening, with dinner served on board and time to enjoy the atmosphere of the bay.

Day 8: Tuesday, October 6, 2026

Lan Ha Bay Exploration

We begin the day with time on deck before heading to Cat Ba Island, where we visit Cat Ba National Park and explore Trung Trang Cave, known for its impressive limestone formations. After returning to the cruise for lunch, the afternoon offers time to explore a local market or relax at the beach before heading back on board. The evening is spent at anchor in the bay, with dinner and time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Day 9: Wednesday, October 7, 2026

Old Quarter Ride

Begin the morning on the bay with a visit to Dark and Bright Cave, known for its unique limestone formations and peaceful surroundings, before returning to the cruise for breakfast and disembarkation. After transferring back to Hanoi, the afternoon and evening include a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter, a visit to Dong Xuan Market, and a traditional water puppet show.

Day 10: Thursday, October 8, 2026

Longshan Temple & Ximending

We return to Taipei and begin with a visit to Longshan Temple, one of the city’s oldest and most important spiritual sites, known for its intricate architecture and rich history. The day continues in Ximending, a lively district filled with shops, street food, and modern city energy, offering a great final look at Taipei’s vibrant culture.

Day 11: Thursday, October 9, 2026

Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen

Today we venture beyond Taipei to explore Taiwan’s northern coastline and mountain villages, beginning at Yehliu Geopark, where unique rock formations, including the famous Queen’s Head, showcase the power of nature. From there, we continue to Jiufen Old Street, a historic hillside village filled with narrow alleyways, teahouses, and scenic views. In the afternoon, we visit Shifen Waterfall, one of Taiwan’s most beautiful natural sites, before exploring Shifen Old Street, a traditional railway town famous for its unique train tracks running directly through the old street.

Day 12: Saturday, October 10, 2026

Departure

We transfer to the airport this morning for your 9:40 AM flight home, bringing your journey through Taiwan and Vietnam to a close.
